Dr Sankar Manchella
Sankar is a dual qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, holding degrees in both Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his undergraduate Science and Medical degrees at the Australian National University in Canberra before moving to Melbourne to commence work as a junior doctor at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. It was here that he was first introduced to the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He went on to study Dentistry at the University of Melbourne, followed by surgical training in Victoria and Tasmania.
After obtaining his specialist qualifications, he pursued further training overseas, working as a Senior Clinical Fellow in craniofacial, trauma and deformity surgery at King's College Hospital, London.
Sankar currently holds appointments as a consultant surgeon at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and Monash Health. He is also a lecturer at the Melbourne Dental School, University of Melbourne.
His interests include dentoalveolar surgery, implantology and bone grafting, craniofacial trauma and orthognathic surgery.
